About the Cycling tour with visit of the Filliers distillery!

We gather in small groups and make a 2 hours bicycle tour on a tandem through the fascinating countryside of the Lys.
Each group is accompanied by a guide who will give a brief explanation of the most interesting and beautiful sights.
The idyllic villages of Sint-Martens-Latem and Deurle gained their international reputation thanks to the great number of artists that settled here during the first half of the 20th century. Artists such as Albijn Van den Abeele, Valerius De Saedeleer, Constant Permeke, Gust and Leon De Smet, Albert Servaes, George Minne, Gustave and Karel van de Woestijne, Fritz Van den Berghe and so many others have worked here and formed a sort of ‘artists colony’ called rather erroneously the ‘Latem School’.
On the way, a stop by the ‘Filliers’ distillery. From cooking and fermenting to distillation of gin, the artisan distilling process needs the craftsmanship of 5 generations ‘masters in cooking’ in order to obtain the most exquisite gin.
An experienced guide will give us a 45 minute tour through the distillery, followed by a tasting of 3 different gins.
Transfer back to Ooidonk.
